The Problem

Homeschooling families struggle to find compassionate, informed mental health care to support them and help them become successful on their home education journey.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide homeschooling families with access to compassionate, informed mental health care by training mental health professionals in cultural competency, creating a community of peers and professionals to support homeschooling families, and offering mental health resources to help families homeschool as they see fit.

Our Vision

By 2028, every homeschooling family in all 50 states will have access to compassionate, knowledgeable, and experienced mental health care, enabling them to succeed as parents, maintain healthy relationships with their children, and homeschool in a manner that suits them best.

Our Core Values

Our core values:

Compassion – HCN screens all providers for a compassionate attitude towards the homeschooling community.

Knowledge – All team members are required to complete HCN’s cultural competency training.

Empowerment – HCN will help, offer resources to, or refer any homeschooling family that comes to us, regardless of their situation.

The HCN Difference

The Homeschool Counseling Network, Inc. (HCN) is the only nonprofit organization to offer a dual-path educational approach, where homeschooling families are provided with knowledge, resources, and support regarding mental health, and professionals are simultaneously educated about the world of homeschooling and the mental health needs of homeschooling families. This unique approach is vital to bridging the gap between these two communities.
