Tales from Mother Earth
Tales from Mother Earth is a collective conservation venture based in the UK.
In response to the climate crisis and the impact on our wildlife, we wanted to do something to help, to encourage children to open their eyes to the wonders of nature and empower them by doing so.
By compiling a realistic and touching animal/insect series of children’s audio/picture storybooks, we aim to raise awareness among the young, highlighting the current threats our wildlife is facing from erosion of natural habitat, climate change and plastic pollution.
It’s an exciting project that aims to reconnect and empower children (3-10 years) with the natural world and make them feel better about their future. Phoebe the Bee is our first story in the Tales from the Countryside series which we hope will ignite the conservationist in all who read it by empowering them to help in some way – especially children.
It’s an educational tale about a worker bee who through her courage and determination manages to save the hive and her family when her natural environment is threatened. Also, we’ve added many different age-related stimuli to the content (book and CD), so that over time as a child’s understanding and abilities grow, their engagement is maintained with a fun, interactive and rewarding experience.
It’s wonderful to see our venture achieving its mission – connecting children with the natural world. We hope to reach out to many more youngsters so they too can experience hours of fun, reading, listening and engaging with Phoebe’s story, whilst learning how to help our bees!
