Learning in the Living Room
Learning in the Living Room is a place where HOPE is found for struggling readers and writers from preschool through high school.
It is a place where home meets school in a way that is not ordinary, but extraordinary.
It is a place where learning occurs in a dynamic way that is ‘old fashioned’ in its feel, yet extremely innovative in its results.
It is a place where we truly know the student and we honor what Elizabeth Foss refers to as the knowing, and therefore we educate from the knowing.
It is a place where instruction and materials are tailored to fit the needs, strengths, passions, and learning styles of the child.
Its founder, Terri Lynch, has over 30 years of experience home educating and teaching in the public sector. She is a certified Reading/Language Arts Consultant and Elementary Educator, as well as an Orton-Gillingham trained literacy specialist. She has taught hundreds of children to read and write successfully, and trained hundreds of teachers to do the same!
Her greatest passion lies in helping struggling learners become all that GOD has created them to be via specialized assessment and highly individualized instruction.
She provides authentic, relevant, and student-centered opportunities tailored specifically to meet the learner’s needs, strengths, passions, and learning styles, thus creating the BEST learning life for the student.
